Abstract Submission Guidelines for IMA National 2023

ABSTRACT

    • Abstract Submission Opens: 1st September 2023
    • Abstract Submission Closes: 30th November 2023

    • Oral Presentations: Available both online and offline
    • Poster Presentation: Offline only
    • E Poster: Offline only
Awards:
    A separate Best Paper award will be given for every stream.
Registration:
    Only registered candidates will be allowed to present their papers at the conference. We encourage prior registration for the conference, but participants can also register later depending on the acceptance of the paper.
Abstract Format:
    Please consider these guidelines, information, tips, terms, and deadlines to facilitate the submission and subsequent follow-up process.
Basic Format for Abstract:
    • The abstract should be a summary of your research paper including its background, purpose, methodology, results, and conclusion.
    • It should be one paragraph with a word limit of 175-275 words.
    • Please provide keywords (no more than 6 words). Keywords should be written in lowercase letters (not applicable to names/scientific names) and should be separated with commas.
    • Please do not include subheadings, bullets, lists, and header/footer in the abstract.
    • Abstract titles should be short but descriptive. Informative titles indicating key points are encouraged. Abbreviations should not be used in the title.
    • Acronyms should be written in full the first time they are mentioned in the text, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
    • There shall be no citations or references in the abstract specifically. If there is a need to cite references, please provide the sources in brackets.
Font:
    • Title: Times New Roman, 12 points, Upper case, Centered text in bold
    • Body: Times New Roman, 11 points; Line spacing: 1, one column of text
Affiliations:
    • Affiliations should be indicated with superscript Arabic numbers appearing at the end of surname/family name.
    • A superscript asterisk should be used for the corresponding author
    • Names of affiliations should be given including the country.
    • If there is more than one name and address, they should be related by superscript numbers.
    Example: Surname INITIALS 1, Surname INITIALS 1* and Surname INITIALS 2 1 Department, Faculty, University, Country 2 Department, Faculty, University, Country
General Instructions for Abstract Submission:
    • Abstracts should represent original work.
    • Both informative and critical abstracts are accepted.
    • The abstract should be written in English.
    • Please indicate one to three most relevant themes for your abstract from the conference tracks.
    • Please send in a brief biography together with the abstract (An example is given in the abstract template).
    • Please download the abstract template and follow the format carefully. Documents that do not conform to the guidelines will be asked to revise.
    • Documents received after the given deadline, due to any reason, will not be accepted unless the deadline is extended.
    • The abstract should be submitted in the format of MS Word (.doc or .docx) document. Template
Biography:
    Please include a short biography along with the abstract. This should be added as a separate page below the abstract in the same document. Please refer to the template for further guidance. Template

Peer Review Process for IMA National 2023
    • The Indian Medical Association is committed to ensuring a timely and fair review process in line with international norms of double-blind peer review. We rely on the support of highly qualified academics across the country to assist with this endeavor.
    • The peer review process for IMA National 2023 is conducted by the Conference Secretariat under the guidance of the Scientific Research Committee Chair/Conference Chair.
    • The Scientific Research Committee Chair/Conference Chair serves as the Head of the Scientific Committee and will make the final decision on abstracts.
    • Every abstract will undergo a peer review by a Scientific Research Committee Member within two to three weeks after its receipt.
    • Results of the abstract review will be sent to the author within two weeks of submission (Conditions apply if there is an emergency).
    • Notices of acceptance or rejection of the paper will be sent to the author along with reviewer comments.
    • If revisions are required according to the reviewer's comments, the revised abstract must be sent back within a week.
    • If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to register for the Conference.

• Appropriateness of the research/study/ methodology
